With more and more people doing more and more with their lives it’s not surprising that things like exercise and eating well go out of the window. We have all felt that we simply do not have enough time to do all the things we have to do, let alone things we should be doing.

Exercise is one of the biggest tasks that we push to one side and don’t find the time for however, the positive impact that daily exercise can have on your life and health makes it most definitely worth taking the time to do. With some simple changes to your day and making the most of the time you have, you can add exercise to every day of your life.

Stretch; first thing in the morning, as soon as you place your feet on the floor and wipe the sleep from eyes, the act of stretching your muscles increases circulation which leads to better mobility and flexibility. It also helps to increase blood flow around the body which increases productivity, alertness, and your general mood which leads to a more effective day all round.

Next up, walk, we’re not suggesting that you walk the 10 mile commute to and from work every day, however, we are suggesting that rather than sitting at your desk on your lunch how about you walk for 30 minutes, be in into town, around the area you work or taking the stairs instead of the lift. Get yourself a pedometer and you can watch how many steps you are taking, it is recommended that you walk 10,000 steps per day, which works out to 4 miles. Start of small, and within no time you will be able to build up to the 10,000 steps.

There are all kinds of ways to find an extra hour in your day to fit in some exercise; watch a little less TV instead go for a walk, 10 minutes a day of running up and down your stairs at home will have a positive impact on your health as will dancing around your living room to your favourite songs.

Exercise is not only good for your physical health but also for emotional health, endorphins are released when you exercise, which improve your mood and increase happiness.
